This shot looks good on my new monitor, but looks mediocre on my old one, so your mileage may vary.
I shot this in rather poor lighting, with only the overhead light in the bedroom, which was slightly back-lighting the cat. I set the ISO to 320 for this one, opened the aperture to f/2.4 and then shot it at 1/8th of a second, which was still slightly under-exposed, though I managed to cover for it a bit in software. I managed to get a reasonably sharp picture in spite of the slow shutter by resting the camera on the bed and holding very still.
I originally converted this one to black and white in software and posted it as my PoTD, but the longer I had the picture in front of me, the more I realized it was just too dark for my liking, so I retracted it from Facebook and the YIP group and resubmitted it in colour, with a bit more exposure compensation.
